What to Bring to A Mortgage Application

  • Previous two-year residence history:
    Name of landlord (if renting) / mortgage lender (if owner) with account number and phone number and address of party.
  • Previous two-year employment history:
    Employer name / address / phone number, Current paycheck stubs for last 30 days, W-2 forms from the previous two years
  • Previous three months of bank statements:
    Check and / or savings statements, Credit union statements, Mutual fund / stock / bond or other brokerage account statements
  • Names, addresses, and account numbers for ALL outstanding debts:
    Include monthly payments and current balance statements, Child care, foster care, or nursing home costs
  • Driver’s license and social security card for all parties requesting a loan:
    (Only FHA, VA loans)
  • Appraisal and credit report fee of approximately $350 (Check with the lender):
  • Tax returns from the previous two years:
    If self-employed, commissions / bonuses earned, or own rental property owned
  • Divorce decree ( if applicable):
    Information on child support / alimony payable or receivable
  • Other Real Estate holdings:
    Name and address of lender, and loan information, Copies of all current lease / rental agreements and / or land contracts,
    Closing statement for any property bought or sold in the last two years, Warranty deed if property is owned free / clear,
    Property tax / utility and expense information on property
  • VA Applications Only:
    Certificate of eligibility, Copy of Discharge Papers (DD 214 Form)
